The A to Z Challenge is a daily meme posting every day (except Sundays) in April. Check out the list of 1500+ participants below and follow along for 26 days (and 26 letters) of fun. The 2-letter code after each blog name may help narrow your choices - (BO) is Books, (WR) is Writing, (PH) is Photography . . . and, if you're concerned about those NSFW pages, (AC) is Adult Content.
For my theme, I'm going with a little author/title alliteration.
Today's challenge post is brought to you by the letter H, as in Joe Hill, author of Heart-Shaped Box. This was a novelty read for me, a horrific thriller in the vein of classic King or Koontz, from the son of Stephen King (as far as pseudonyms go, Joe Hill had a short lifespan than Richard Bachman or Own West). The concept was great, with a lead character who reminded me a bit of Alice Cooper and Gavin Rossdale all rolled up into one. The writing was a little rough, as you might expect from a debut novel, but solid enough to suggest a successful career worth watching. It was gory, it was imaginative, and there was even a bit of sorrow or sympathy to accompany it all.
To borrow an idea from several bloggers I've been visiting on the challenge, I've included a little musical accompaniment for the day, courtesy of hometown boys, Honeymoon Suite. The video for Feel it Again may look a bit cheesy and dated now, but it was ahead of its time back in '86.
