The A to Z Challenge is daily meme posting every day (except Sundays) in April. Check out the list of 1500+ participants below and follow along for 26 days (and 26 letters) of fun. The 2-letter code after each blog name may help narrow your choices - (BO) is Books, (WR) is Writing, (PH) is Photography . . . and, if you're concerned about those NSFW pages, (AC) is Adult Content.
For my theme, I'm going with a little author/title alliteration.
Today's challenge post is brought to you by the letter D, as in Amanda Downum, author of The Drowning City. This is one from the to-be-read pile, a title I've had sitting on my shelf for quite some time now. It seems like most readers have a love-hate relationship with the series, but the setting intrigues me, the storyline sounds strong, and I've heard some positive things about the characters.
With reviewers commenting on things like "plague and necromancers and transvestites and murder and magic and vampires and sex and bars and war and affairs and intrigue" I'm far more than just curious. I'll have to make some time for it eventually, and since the second and third books seem to have received stronger reviews than the first, I'm hoping it will be one of those reads that compels me to lose myself in the entire series, back-to-back-to-back.
